Christmas Tree Decorations

It’s that time of year again for Christmas trees, stockings, presents, mistletoes and good times with family. My favorite holiday is by far Christmas so right after Thanksgiving, I start putting up my Christmas decorations so I can enjoy them longer.  The lights, the reason for the season and all the merry! I wanted to share with yall my decorations that I use to make my tree so festive!

Here is a glimpse of my Christmas decor this year:) I am very into red, green and champagne colors for my decor. The green & red make it very traditional while the champagne gives it a sparkly, classy, chic look:)

I hope yall enjoyed a little look at my Christmas decor! So for most of my tree decor, I purchased them at Hobby Lobby. They have a lot of sales most of the time so be sure to check them out. Then most of my other decor I have stocked up over the years. But below shop a couple of my fav items for Christmas decorations. As always thanks for stopping by and looking forward to what you think:)

Little Texas getaway

Looking for a weekend Texas getaway for any season of the year? This little town has so much to offer from wine tasting, shopping, floating the river, the famous Gruene Hall, Schlitterbahn waterpark and much more! I have visited many times and it never gets old. The summer we really enjoy floating the river, going to concerts, and did I mention there is a gorgeous lake nearby too?? It’s a great family friendly town that really has a bit for everyone. For the fall and winter months, I really enjoy the wine tasting and shopping. They tend to have more festivals this time of year so everyone walks around Gruene and enjoys the weather. The leaves are changing, the air is cooler and the food is always more comforting.

So my first getaway experience for yall is… drum roll please…….ISSSSSSSSS

It’s a cute German town that offers a place to relax, shop, drink some wine and try great food. This is our go-to place! It’s not far from Corpus and plus the outlet mall is close to there too. So already a perfect reason to go!!!

We stayed at a house that is walking distance to downtown New Braunfels called Mellow Yellow. It was soooo cute! It has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a great entertaining area and big backyard. I would for sure go back! Now take a look Inside:)

The house was amazing but the wine was even better! We went to Gruene and did a wine tasting at The Grapevine in Gruene. I think I may have found my new favorite wine. Its called Wedding Oak and it was delicious, so now I want to try them all. The names of all their wines are beyond cute because they go with the wedding theme. I think I enjoy it 10x more since I am currently planning a wedding.

New Braunfels is just a perfect little getaway! If you have visited or plan to visit let me know. I love feedback:)

Also, the dress is from Jewels. Seriously, so perfect for a wedding or a nice dinner and it is super comfortable yet form-fitting plus less than $100! My handbag is Chanel and I have not found a recent design that is similar. But I am always looking and when I find it I will notify yall. Also, my shoes are Jessica Simpson, I have a couple pairs in the same style just different colors. They go with so many outfits and can be dressed up or down. Did I mentions they are currently on Sale and they come in 3 different colors!!!

I hope yall enjoyed my first Little Texas Getaway. I plan to do more for yall as I travel. I love going new places, trying new food and new experiences. If you have any questions or suggestions on where to travel next contact me at or comment.

Velvet & Pearls

Happy Friday! I am sorry I have been MIA but have been super busy in the real estate world (which I want to do a post on that soon too). I am loving velvet and pearls for my fall fashion wardrobe this season. It has that casual, classy look and looks stylish yet comfortable.

I found these amazing pearl jeans at Zara. I am really loving their clothes, and I just recently started purchasing from there. They are only $50 and come in black as well. I may have to get both:)

The velvet top I actually got from one of fav stores, TjMaxx but I found a couple similar styles at my other favorite fashion store Nordstrom.  I am really loving this blush pink color, its a must have color for fall.

My booties are from Vince Camuto. They have a round tulip toe and a slick heel. They really are perfect for any fall outfit. They are currently 20% of right now. Don’t miss out, you really can’t go wrong!

As I am sure y’all have noticed, I am a CHANEL girl! Not only is their mascara my fav but their bags are a-m-a-z-i-n-g too! This Chanel cross body bag  is one of my fav statement pieces that I use for most dressy events as well as my casual days. Its light and can be used for any occasion. I have not been able to find a similar one but I always have my eye out and when I do I will let y’all know. The sunglasses are also Chanel and have a similar detail to my purse. I am obsessed! I have linked the similar ones here but the lens are pink. I would totally rock them though!

I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend! I am working on some more great pieces so stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by and like always you can reach me at

Low carb Italian Dish

Happy Thursday! While this past week has been anything but normal I decided to cook my fiance and I one our favorite low carb dishes. This is a good hearty comforting food without all the carbs:) And you can never go wrong with a good italian dish! Hope y’all enjoy! Comment below if you cook it!

Zucchini Lasagna

  • 2 lb 93% lean Turkey Meat
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 oz can) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 3 medium (8 ounces each) zucchini, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups cups part-skim ricotta
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan
  • 1 large egg (I use fresh eggs) *Perks of having chickens in your backyard:)
  • 16 oz (4 cups) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese ( since you can

  1. In a medium sauce pan, brown meat and season with salt. Drain excess water/fat. Then, add olive oil to the pan and saute garlic and onions about 2 minutes.
  2. Add pushed tomatoes and stir well.
  3.  Simmer on low for at least 30-40minutes, covered. The sauce should be thick.
  4. Meanwhile, slice zucchini into thin slices, add lightly salt and set aside or 10 minutes. Zucchini has a lot of water when cooked, salting it takes out a lot of moisture. After 10 minutes, blot excess moisture with a paper towel.
  5. Preheat a gas grill (I use a George Foreman) to medium high, and grill 2 to 3 minutes per side, until slightly browned. Place on paper towels to soak any excess moisture.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°.
  7. In a medium bowl mix ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese and egg.
  8. In a 9×12 casserole spread 1/2 cup of sauce on the bottom and layer the zucchini to cover. Spread 1/2 cup of the ricotta cheese mixture, then top with 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese and repeat the process until all your ingredients are used up. The last layer top with remaining zucchini and sauce, cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Uncover the foil and bake 20 minutes (to dry up the sauce) then place the remaining 1 cup mozzarella and bake until melted, 10 minutes. ( if you like your cheese little crispy on top. Broil for the last 1-2 minutes.) My fiancé and I love a crispy top cheese layer.
  9. Let stand about 5 – 10 minutes before serving.

Brown the turkey meat

I like turkey meat because its leaner. You will see in my recipes to come, I mainly cook with turkey meat:)

Here is the meat sauce, make sure to let it simmer for 30 minutes.

Make sure to salt the zucchini and let it sit. This really helps with the final product to not be as watery. Zucchini holds a lot of water and this will help a lot.

Even after I grill them on the George Forman I like to get a paper towel and get the remaining excess water.

This is the final product. If you do not like a crispy top layer, just don’t broil it. (My fiancé and I love it like this) * No its not burnt lol

Nicely paired with a glass of Rodney Strong Cab:)

Texas Strong after Hurricane Harvey

What a crazy week? If you have been on any social media or news lately you have seen that Texas was hit very hard by Hurricane Harvey. While, My family and I are very fortunate to not have had any damage, our surrounding areas were not. The devastation is completely sickening.

While driving around the Rockport, Tx area 2 days after tragedy hit there were people coming to their destroyed homes to salvage what they could. Seeing this was a big eye opener to me. That no matter what your plans are for your life that anything can be take at any given second. These people did not plan for this and weren’t prepared for everything to be taken. To see that people lost EVERYTHING. Their homes, businesses, animals, food etc. Their life is turned upside down. But then there was a lady that came to get food for her family at our station. I was in complete sadness when she said she lost everything. Then I heard her say “We will overcome this and com back STRONGER.” To hear that come from someone that lost everything, really made me stop and think

Texans are proud to live in the state we live in. We WILL overcome this TOGETHER. No matter if you were not affected by this your state was. Here is the time to come together and to come back stronger than ever. If you were affected by Hurricane Harvey then we are here for you! IN GOD WE TRUST!!!
